hi, i’m jonathan, and i’m half of this blog. the other half, dianna, my wife, will shortly come along and edit all of this… anyway the story goes like this: for the past 12 years my family (mostly my parents with various siblings in tow at different times) have been exploring europe through the myriad of inland waterways aboard our 1916 Dutch built skutsje tjalk (barge), linquenda.
linquenda is 65 feet long and draws less that 2 feet, and still has her sailing rig.

[dianna enters, cuts the last 4 cheeky lines and resumes in non-traditional language]
linquenda is like an old gentle horse, the way you can pull her along with rope in hand and tie her up in a stall for the night, then take her out for a ride and a graze through rural pastures, market squares, and urban centres. she is marvelous company and has hosted new and old
friend’s in France this year, with more to come until october where we’ll blanket her up for winter.
Great to read your news. What is the plan for the summer of 2010, in particular, the fall of 2010?
Joanne and Dave Graham
my parents ran a short season this year which just ended and Linquenda is now up for sale. after 16 years we are moving on to new adventures. -jonathan
